Halfway through February, 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting year for country music. Genre staples like Sheryl Crow and Kacey Musgraves are releasing new albums while artists like Lana Del Rey are dabbling in the genre.
On Super Bowl Sunday, Beyoncé dropped two new songs as part of her "ACT II" country album, the second installment of her "Renaissance" project. The tracks "Texas! Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages" gave her fans a glimpse of how she will make the genre her own.
Post Malone's next project, which has yet to be announced, is rumored to delve into the genre, according to Forbes. Last November he was featured on the 1994 song "Pickup Man" by Joe Diffie, who died in 2020. The "Circles" rapper and singer joined country music favorites Morgan Wallen and Hardy at the CMA Awards to perform the track.
In January, artists including Niko Moon ("Better Days"), Conner Smith ("Smoky Mountains") and the Josh Abbott Band ("Somewhere Down the Road") released records. Gabby Barrett's and the Castellows' latest albums also debuted earlier this month. Even "Yellowstone" star Luke Grimes will drop his debut self-titled country music album next month.
To help keep track of what projects are expected to release, here are some country music albums and EPs that should be on your radar so far.
